WAN-IFRA “Print Innovation Awards 2021” open for entries

2021-04-12. WAN-IFRA is inviting entries for its 4th annual Print Innovation Awards. The World Printers Forum’s competition celebrates the most innovative print ads as well as newspaper and magazine publishers’ products worldwide. The awards will be presented in Frankfurt at the World Printers Summit in October 2021.

Innovation in the publishing industry is not confined to the digital sector but is also to be found in print. In order to demonstrate this to a wider public worldwide, the World Printers Forum has launched the Print Innovation Awards in 2018. With these awards, the WAN-IFRA’s World Printers Forum has closed a gap. Although there are many media prizes as well as regional print awards, the WAN-IFRA Print Innovation Awards is the only worldwide competition with a clear focus on innovative print projects.

The “Print Innovation Awards” competition recognise the most highly innovative print ads as well as newspaper and magazine publishers’ products worldwide and is open to newspaper and magazine publishers as well as advertisers or advertising agencies. Previous Awards winners include El Tiempo (Colombia), Südkurier (Germany), Bennett Coleman and Co (India), Aftenposten (Norway), Funke Mediengruppe (Germany), Arab News (UK), Diari Ara (Spain), Presse-Druck und Verlags (Germany), Børneavise (Denmkar), Prayukti Publications (India), Stuff Magazin (New Zealand), Mediengruppe Straubinger (Germany), VRM (Germany), Waspada (Indonesia).

Award Categories
A jury of international experts, members of the World Printers Forum board, as well as external expert jurors evaluates the submitted products. Each category will be awarded with a prize. Outstanding products receive international recognition – at the stage of the World Printers Summit. Successful case studies will be presented in webinars in 2021 and 2022. The Print Innovation Awards are presented in seven categories:

– Advertising Innovation
– Product Innovation
– Special Editions
– Products for Young Readers
– Audience Innovation
– Sustainability Innovation

Entries can now be submitted at the following link: wan-ifra.awardsplatform.com. The closing date for entries and upload of project files is Tuesday, August 30, 2021.
Winners will be honoured at the World Printers Summit in October 2021.

Vincent Peyrègne

Vincent Peyrègne took up duties as Chief Executive Officer of WAN-IFRA in 2012. Prior to joining WAN-IFRA, he was Head of Development at Edipresse in Switzerland (now Tamedia) with responsibility for audience insights, editorial marketing research and product development, before joining the office of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
