He served on then-IFRA’s Nordic board from 1996-2006, both as a member and chairman. He was also a board member and chairman of the Scandinavian Newspaper association during the same period. Johannsson headed major ground-breaking investments in press, prepress and mailroom for Morgunbladid. Many from the WAN-IFRA community remember him by his trademark Dunhill pipe (as seen in photo). He was a true newspaper man who spent his whole career at Morgunbladid, starting as a delivery boy, then became director of accounts at twenty and ending his career as the General Manager. Johannsson is survived by his wife Edda and their two sons.
