Irene Lanzaco

Irene Lanzaco, Executive Director of the Spanish News Media Association, has extensive professional experience in all types of media (Internet, press, television and radio), where she has directed the most important corporate operations of the last two decades at the helm of Spain’s leading media groups. With a solid international vocation and experience, Irene Lanzaco’s professional experience also extends to the fields of telecommunications, publishing, printing and catering. With a degree with honours from ICADE in the Business Law programme, PDG from IESE, Woman In News from INSEAD, Women To Watch from PWC, Lanzaco is currently vice-president of News Media Europe – a pan-European organisation that defends the interests of the media within the European Union – and a member of the board of directors of WAN IFRA. She is also a member of the board of directors of CEDRO, a management organisation that protects the rights of writers and publishers of books and periodicals. She is the mother of three children and a passionate advocate of the value of the humanities. Irene Lanzaco is also the ideologist and promoter of the lawsuit filed by 83 Spanish media groups against META for unfair competition, for which META has been ordered to pay more than 540,000,000 euros to the Spanish media.
