WAN-IFRA to host World News Media Congress 2026 in Marseille, France

2025-05-06. WAN-IFRA has announced Marseille as the host city for its next World News Media Congress, from 1-3 June 2026. This choice marks a historic return to France, more than 30 years after the last edition held in Paris in 1995. The Congress will be co-hosted by French media group CMA Media.

WAN-IFRA has announced the election of new members to serve on its Supervisory Board of Directors and the Board of the World Editors Forum following meetings held during the 76th World News Media Congress in Kraków, Poland, on Sunday, 4 May. Mariam Mammen Mathew (India), has been elected WAN-IFRA Vice President. David Walmsley (Canada) has been confirmed as President of the World Editors Forum. Pia Rehnquist (Sweden) will join WAN-IFRA’s Executive Board.
