Agnes Kalekye Nguna has been appointed the new Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Managing Director and CEO in May 2024. Prior to that, she was Chief Operating Officer of the Star Newspaper (Nairobi, Kenya). Agnes is a seasoned media leader with over 17 years of experience in the industry. She began her career as a freelance sales executive, rising over the ranks, taking on increasingly senior roles, and expanding her expertise in strategic planning, business development, financial management and operational management. Beyond her role at the Star Newspaper, Agnes is actively involved in various leadership positions within the industry. She is the current Chair of the Media Owners Association, an umbrella body that represents media houses in Kenya and speaks with one voice on issues affecting the industry. Additionally, Agnes serves on the Supervisory Board of the World Association of Newspapers.
