Aileen Rae Perez is a digital media leader and award-winning producer with over 20 years of experience across broadcast journalism and digital media. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President for GMA Integrated News Social Media, helping lead one of the largest and most engaged digital news operations in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.
Aileen’s work sits at the intersection of journalism, platform innovation, and audience strategy. She led the social media team behind GMA Integrated News and GMA Public Affairs’ YouTube Diamond Creator Awards.
She also helped develop the digital strategies for GMA’s award-winning election information campaign, Dapat Totoo (Truth is a Must), which brought fact-based storytelling to TikTok, memes, and mainstream audiences, demonstrating how public-interest journalism can thrive on global platforms. The campaign earned international recognition including Gold winner in the 2022 Digital Media Awards, and Finalist at last year’s16th Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards. Her work has been instrumental in advancing mobile journalism and platform-native storytelling approaches that have driven millions of new followers and sustained engagement growth for GMA Integrated News and GMA Public Affairs.
Before stepping into senior leadership, Aileen worked as a journalist and television producer for some of the Philippines’ most respected and award-winning programs, including Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, I-Witness, and Reel Time. While her work has been recognized locally and internationally, she remains grounded in the belief that journalism’s highest purpose is to tell stories that inform, empower, and serve the public.
Aileen is a proud alumna of the Asia Journalism Fellowship, Korea Press Foundation Fellowship, and the Asian American Journalists Association Executive Leadership Program. These global learning experiences, combined with her deep roots in broadcast and digital journalism, continue to shape her commitment to mentorship, innovation, and building future-ready newsrooms and media leaders.
