Alona Yatsana

Alona Yatsyna is a media manager, military journalist, and founder of the Sumy regional media outlet Kordon.Media. She is also the regional coordinator of the Institute of Mass Information.

With seven years of experience in media, Alona has worked in television news and led her own investigative journalism project, (Not) Involved. She has participated in projects such as Exposure Lab by Bigus.info, Schemes in the Regions, and Schemes by RFE/RL.

She is a nominee and winner of the national Media.etc 2.0 award, as well as a nominee for the National Investigative Journalism Competition by the Media Development Foundation and Yanukovych Leaks. Alona has also received an award from the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting for military journalism and an award from the Prime Minister of Ukraine for her journalistic work during the war.

She has two years of experience managing a TV company and has served as an advisor to the head of the regional administration on media and communication policy. In 2022, she worked as the press officer for the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
