Andy Saputra is a seasoned media executive with over 18 years of experience in a variety of roles in global media organizations.  Currently a Regional Executive with the Associated Press, he leads business development across Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.  In this role, Andy is responsible for managing key client relationships and developing new business opportunities.

Prior to this, Andy was an International Correspondent for China Central Television where he covered major world events including the Japan tsunami, Crimea’s annexation and the Syrian war, and hosted the award-winning “Assignment Asia.” He was an Associate Producer for CNN International where he was part of a team that produced Emmy-nominated stories and was second-in-command in managing the network’s Indonesian office.

Andy has the unique expertise of merging substantial editorial insight with commercial acumen and experience engaging with stakeholders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Information Technology from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. He is based in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesian.
