Cécile Sourd has been part of Mediapart since 2018, where she currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to her appointment as CEO in March 2023, she held the role of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for nearly five years, contributing significantly to the organisation’s strategic and financial development.

Before joining Mediapart, she built her career in local government, holding senior roles in cities such as Vaulx-en-Velin, Saint-Fons, and Lognes, where she focused on social development, communication, and community engagement. She also began her career as a gender equality advisor for the Essonne Departmental Council and as a lecturer and researcher in political science at Sciences Po Lyon.
