Christiane Düsterfeld is the Head of EU Affairs & Bid Management at dpa, Deutsche Presse-Agentur GmbH, Germany’s leading news agency. With over 20 years of experiences in international sales & business development, Christiane is responsible for the implementation and coordination of dpa’s European media projects and the strategic expansion of dpa’s partner network. She also is the central dpa contact for stakeholders in the European institutions. Since 2022 Christiane and her team have been coordinating the European Newsroom (www.europeannewsroom.com), a collaboration of 23 news agencies from Europe producing and distributing EU related news and training for correspondents in journalistic skills like fact-checking, mobile journalism or AI related journalism in the newsroom. Further projects are related to fact-checking (GADMO), media literacy (TFCN Europe) or dpa’s involvement in TEMS, the Trusted European Media Data Space.
