David Wightman is the Global Head of Advertising of the South China Morning Post, a global news media company that has reported on China and Asia for more than a century. He is an Executive Committee member of the IAB Hong Kong.
David spearheads the growth and international expansion of SCMP’s global advertising business spanning across Hong Kong, mainland China, Asia, USA and Europe. He oversees global media sales, marketing and creative solutions, branded content, events, custom publishing, advertising technology, and sales operations.
With more than two decades of industry experience across media, data and technology. David has built and led local and international commercial, operations and technology teams within digital and traditional media companies.
Prior to joining the SCMP, David was based in London as the Group Director of Business Operations for Ebiquity. Before that, he was based in Singapore as the regional Managing Director of [M]Platform, where he launched and scaled the regional programmatic, data and technology division of GroupM Asia Pacific..
