A printing technologist from the Institute of Printing, Bengaluru, Gururaj started his career as a Process Supervisor in 1980 with the Manipal Press, Manipal. He has undergone extensive training in high-speed web offset machines, security printing & cheque printing at Harris Graphics/Atlantic force in the USA and at CEM machinery in Milan, Italy.

In a career spanning over 40 years, he has worked with major newspaper publications like the Indian Express (Mumbai), The Times of India & Hindustan Times in various capacities in Mumbai, Chandigarh and Delhi. His last assignment before joining TPML was with Hindustan Times-Delhi as General Manager-Supply Chain heading their flagship plant at Greater Noida overseeing plant operations, projects, modernization/upgradation & TCP. Currently, as General Manager-Production with TPML since 2021, he is responsible for plant operations, maintenance, projects, innovations, cost reduction, etc.
