Jaime Abello Banfi

Managing Director and Co-Founder, Fundación Gabo, Colombia

Managing Director and co-founder of Fundación Gabo, an organization created in 1994 in Cartagena by Gabriel García Márquez, 1982 Literature Nobel Prize winner, and whose current mission is the promotion of quality journalism and the fostering of creativity, with an overall focus on the atelier method in memory of its founder: Gabo.
Before joining the Gabo Foundation, Jaime Abello Banfi was, between 1990 and 1994, Managing Director of Telecaribe, a regional public television channel in the Colombian Caribbean. He is a graduate of the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, but has dedicated his professional life to journalism, film, communication and cultural management.
