
Jane Barrett is the Head of Reuters AI strategy, leading the integration of AI into the newsroom and across the business to ensure a sustainable and innovative future for the news agency in an AI-enhanced age. She manages cross-functional teams to design, develop and deploy AI tools for the newsroom and in client-facing products. She also directs a change programme to build AI literacy, adoption and empowerment and sits on the AI governance committees of both Reuters and Thomson Reuters.
Previously, Jane was responsible for new business across the 174-year-old news agency, building out audio products, fact-checking and events. She led the multimedia transformation of the newsroom to increase Reuters digital output, was the business editor for EMEA, started up a financial video service and was a reporter in Italy and Spain. Outside Reuters she is a trustee of Podium.me, a charity that gets young people into journalism and storytelling through podcasts, and sits on the World Editors Forum and AI Advisory board at WAN-IFRA.
