Javier Rodríguez Petersen is Editorial Strategy Manager at El Cronista. He has 30 years of experience in journalism, with a strong focus on the digital area of major Argentine publishers. He studied Journalism and Social Communication at the Universidad del Salvador, got a Master’s in Journalism from San Andrés and Clarín and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of CEMA. He also completed postgraduate and specialized programs at IAE Business School, FIEL, and the Stock Exchange, among others.
He joined El Cronista in 2013, first as general editor and then as editor-in-chief of the web team. After a brief stint at a tech startup in 2019, he returned as editor-in-chief and primarily responsible for digital content strategy. In 2023, he took over as Editorial Products Manager, adding the areas of Art and Design and Brand Strategy to his strategic and editorial responsibilities, while maintaining close and active ties with other areas of the company.
In his various roles, he was one of the leaders of the digital transformation and growth strategy that El Cronista undertook in recent years, which enabled it to become the most widely read Spanish-language business publisher in the world since January 2022 and one of the five most widely read in Argentina, despite not being a general-content media. He played a key role in shaping and executing the company’s international expansion through content verticals for Spain, Mexico, Colombia, and the Spanish-speaking market in the United States, as well as in the cultural transformation process toward an agile and professional company with a strong focus on data, audiences, and loyalty.
