Jazmín Acuña is the co-founder and editorial director of El Surtidor, a pioneering outlet known for visual, impact-driven reporting. She has championed journalism tailored for young audiences and guided her team to become a reference in covering climate crisis, gender, misinformation, tech and abuses of power. In 2025, she was a Journalist Fellow at the Reuters Institute at Oxford, where she developed a framework for Change-centric Journalism. Under her leadership, El Surtidor has received international recognition, including the Gabo Award (2018), and was a finalist for both the International Press Institute Free Media Pioneer Award (2023) and the Sigma Awards (2024).
