Juliana Quintana Pavlicich

Journalist specializing in gender and science, El Surti, Paraguay

Juliana Quintana Pavlicich is a journalist specializing in human rights, gender, and science coverage. She currently works as a reporter for the El Surti, Paraguayan publishers. She is a researcher at Conacyt (National Council of Sciences), a fact-checker on gender issues at La Precisa, and an LGBTTIQ+ news correspondent at Agencia Presentes and Emancipa Paraguay.

In 2023, together with her colleagues at La Precisa, she published “Noise, The Disinformation Regime in Paraguay’s 2023 Elections.” She was a fellow at Cosecha Roja (Argentina) and a member of the 5th generation of RedLATAM/Distintas Latitudes (Mexico), where she is a member of the subnetwork of LGBTTIQ+ journalists in Latin America and the Caribbean. She holds a degree in Social Communication from the Universidad Austral and a Master’s degree in Investigative Journalism from the Universidad del Salvador. She completed part of her studies at Sciences Po, France. She has collaborated with media outlets such as El País, Vice, Agencia Pública, El Hilo podcast, Perfil, La Diaria, among others.
