Lara Ayoub

Digital Media Strategist, Consultant and Content Creator, Jordan

Lara Ayoub is a digital media strategist, trainer, media and gender consultant with more than 20 years of experience.

Ayoub is the founder of The Media Lab, a community interest organisation focusing on the relation between the media and the public.

She is the co-founder of SADAQA, a nonprofit organization in Jordan advocating for women’s economic rights by removing structural barriers which prevent women from entering and remaining in the workforce.

To date, she has launched and operated 5 digital newsrooms, including of three TV stations and two print publications including Jordan’s first 24-7 public service news station AlMamlaka TV, privately owned Ro’ya TV and Alghad Newspaper.
Ayoub holds a Master’s degree in ‘Global Media and Digital Cultures ‘from SOAS University of London and a post graduate degree in ‘Journalism, Innovation and Leadership’ from the University of Central Lancashire.

She is a certified video producer from the London School of Media, Film and TV.

Ayoub sits on the boards of Save the Children – Jordan, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers Middle East (WAN – IFRA) and a member of the Board of Industry Advisors & Mentors at University of Central Lancashire in the UK.

She is an Eisenhower Fellow since 2017.

Having completed the Harvard Executive Leadership program in Community Organizing in 2013, she became a Teaching Fellow (2015) and a public narrative coach (2020, 2021) with the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Ayoub is the recipient of the 2019 Goldman Sachs – Fortune Global Women Leaders Award, and an active member of the Vital Voices Global Leadership network. Today, Ayoub continues to mentor and coach young emerging leaders.
