Laura Puertas is a senior journalist with more than 40 years of experience in television, print, magazines, and radio across Peru and Panama. Since August 2012, she has served as News Director of Medcom Corporation, leading one of the country’s most influential news operations.

She has been a member of the Board of Transparency International and is a founding member of the Press and Society Institute (IPYS). She has also served on the board of the Inter American Press Association, contributing to the promotion of press freedom and journalistic excellence in the region.
