Laxmi Prasad Pant is a senior journalist, editor, author, and media researcher with
over 25 years of experience in Indian journalism. He currently serves as the
National Editor at Dainik Bhaskar Group. Over the course of his career, he has built
extensive expertise in editorial leadership, investigative journalism, city reporting,
and public-interest journalism. He holds a Ph.D. in Journalism & Mass
Communication.

Widely recognized for his work on nature, the Himalayas, and environmental
journalism, Pant has reported extensively on climate change, mountains, rivers,
forests, wildlife, and ecological issues.

He is the author of two acclaimed books—Himalaya Ka Kabristan and Newsman
@ Work. ‘Himalaya Ka Kabristan’. The Himalayan tsunami in 2013 destroyed Kedarnath, in which thousands of people died and thousands are still missing. He himself reported for the Disaster and book contains his firsthand account of tragedy. He has also written a book titled ‘Newsman @ Work’ based on sensitive examples
from city reporting which was released in JLF 2019.

His investigative exposure of the Sariska tiger poaching racket, along with his
extensive ground reporting on the Uttarakhand disaster and environmental issues in
the Himalayan region, earned him nationwide recognition. Known for his research
driven approach, editorial acumen, and commitment to ethical journalism, Pant
believes that journalism is not merely about reporting events but about
strengthening society, safeguarding nature, and upholding democratic values
through informed and responsible public discourse
