Lyng-Hou Ramirez is a media executive based in South Florida. She is currently the Content and Operations Director for Grupo de Diarios America (GDA), a unique media consortium created in 1991 by 12 leading news publishers across the region to share best practices and collaborate in content and business projects.
As the main liaison for the GDA newsrooms and business teams, Lyng-Hou leads the production of multi-platform investigative features, regional news coverage, exclusive interviews and Op-Eds in Spanish and Portuguese.
She also works with business managers promoting knowledge sharing, joint initiatives and benchmarks. She develops training and scholarship programs and is in charge of the GDA’s Digital Content Exchange Platform, GDA.com and the Annual GDA Journalistic Awards.
Lyng-Hou started her career as correspondent for foreign news agencies in Caracas, New York and Washington D.C. She was press officer at the UN/OAS International Civilian Mission in Haiti, producer with the first BBC Latin American Service team in Miami and a Community Journalism instructor in the Dominican Republic and Colombia.
Lyng-Hou is a 2021 fellow of the Online News Association Women’s Leaders Accelerator and 2016 Duke University Media Fellow. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Universidad Central de Venezuela and a Master in Journalism from the University of Miami.
