Magdalene Wanza Kioko

Magdalene Wanza Kioko is a seasoned leader in democratic governance and rule of law programming in Africa having worked with the Open Society Foundations for 9 years where she led work on democratic governance and rule law under the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA) and participation and expression under Open Society Africa (OS Africa). This work included defending against authoritarianism through the promotion of information democracy, access to information, media freedom and the defense against digital authoritarianism and surveillance. She has experience in rule of law promotion through programming under UNDP Somalia and UNDP Sierra Leone (2009-2015). She has experience in academia having taught law at the University of Nairobi where she taught amongst other courses, Media Law at the University’s School of Journalism.
