Michelle Tam is an award-winning journalist and now Editor, Online at Star Media Group. Based in Kuala Lumpur, she is part of the team that powers the online edition of The Star, the most trusted English news source in Malaysia. With over a decade’s experience in journalism and social media, she has covered national politics, culture, women’s issues, international incidents and more. She leads The Star’s Verified (QuickCheck) efforts, which debunks misinformation, and co-leads AI integration efforts in the newsroom.

Michelle is also Editor at Asia News Network (ANN), the leading regional alliance of news titles striving to bring the region closer, through an active sharing of editorial content on happenings in the region.
