
Born in Madrid, in 1963.
Bachelor’s degree in information science and journalism, at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
President of the Spanish News Agency EFE since December of 2023, he has also been Secretary of State for Communication between 2018 and 2021.
He has developed a long professional career in the Cadena Ser radio group and at Mediaset Media Group, as, both, an editor and presenter of different news programmes.
Oliver has also been an associate professor of journalism at the Rey Juan Carlos and Antonio de Nebrija universities in Madrid, where he has taught for more than a decade about radio, television and television reporting, as well as institutional communication.
He has ́been awarded with the Antena de Oro de Televisión, in 2014; Premio Iris from the Academy of Television, in 2016, the Ondas Award for best radio programme for “Hora 25′, in 1998 and another Ondas Award for best radio programme for “Hoy por Hoy”, in 2001.
In 1995 he received the Antenas de Plata de Radiodifusión prize.
