Mikael Ekman has more than 15 years combined experience from government and private sector working in the intersection of tech, foreign policy, and global economic development. In his current role as Policy Director at Microsoft, Mikael is working on a broad span of critical tech policy questions – from responsible adoption of AI and cloud to quantum, cyber security and protection of democracy. Previously, he served as a career diplomat with 12 years in the Danish Foreign Service, including a stint in Silicon Valley as part of the team that established Denmark’s global tech diplomacy initiative. Mikael serves in a number of committees in the Danish business sector and is a member and co-initiator of the CPH Tech Policy Committee at the Queen Mary Center, University of Copenhagen.
