He studied Social Communication at the Universidad Centroamericana de Nicaragua. He is co-founder, director and multimedia producer at Divergentes. He began his career in 2008 as a radio programmer and announcer. He has been part of the editorial staff of La Prensa (2011-2015) and Confidencial (2016-2019). He has also worked as a consultant in communication and digital strategies for international media and organizations. He was a professor in new communication technologies at the Universidad Centroamericana (2015-2021). In May 2022 he won, along with his team, the Ortega y Gasset award in the Multimedia Coverage category for the work “El reto tras la masacre” (The challenge after the massacre). That same year, but in August, the Inter American Press Association gave him the award for Excellence in Journalism in the Human Rights category for the same work. He is now a refugee in Costa Rica from where he directs the Divergentes team.
