Roman Imielski

Roman Imielski is the First Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Poland’s leading news brand, Gazeta Wyborcza.

He is a former editorial secretary, foreign and political editor of Gazeta Wyborcza and editor-in-chief of the Wyborcza.pl website. He is the author of numerous articles on Polish politics, Russia, Ukraine, the European Union and transatlantic relations. He is a commentator on international and Polish affairs in electronic media.

He has worked for Gazeta Wyborcza since 1995. A historian by education, he is a graduate of the University of Silesia, co-author of the book “The most important Kremlin game” about the football World Cup in Russia. He teaches journalism at SWPS University and is a member of the international media organisations WAN-IFRA and INMA.
