Roman Kulchynsky is the Editor-in-Chief of Texty.org.ua, a Ukrainian media outlet specialising in data journalism, which he co-founded 15 years ago.
His expertise lies in data-driven storytelling and analytical journalism. Texty.org.ua focuses on topics such as Russian propaganda, the war in Ukraine, open data, the environment, education, healthcare, and urbanism, using data visualisation to make complex subjects accessible to a broad audience.
Roman’s professional background includes serving as the Editor-in-Chief of The Ukrainian Week and as a political observer for the business weekly Contracts.
Since 2023, he has been a jury member of the international data journalism competition, the Sigma Awards.
In academia, he has contributed as a lecturer in the Master’s Program in Journalism at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv (2022–2023). He holds a degree in Journalism from the Institute of Journalism at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
