Stefan Wabel leads the Verlegerverband SCHWEIZER MEDIEN which is the national media association of Switzerland. Before joining the association he worked many years in the news media industry.

From 2009 to 2011 Wabel was CEO of Schaffhauser Fernsehen AG. The next years he spent as project lead at Meier + Cie AG Schaffhausen and became head of marketing-services at Blick group after that. His last position before joining the association in 2021 was publishing director at Schaffhauser Nachrichten in Switzerland.
