
Sumanta Datta is the Chief Executive Officer of ABP Network, one of India’s leading media organizations, with a portfolio of television news channels and digital platforms reaching over 535 million people across the country. With more than 30 years of leadership experience, he has built a distinguished career in business operations, marketing, sales, and distribution across the media, publishing, consumer goods, and technology sectors.
Before joining ABP Network, Sumanta held several senior leadership positions, including Managing Director of Oxford University Press India, Managing Director & Cluster Head at Logitech (India, Indonesia, and Southwest Asia), and Vice President – Operations & Customer Leadership at Coca-Cola India. Throughout his career, he has successfully led large-scale business transformations, introduced innovative growth strategies, and driven operational excellence.
An active industry leader, Sumanta serves on the FICCI Publishing Committee and has previously been a member of the Economic Times India Leadership Council and the CII Committee on Retail. He was also a founding member of the Coca-Cola ISB Retail Academy. Recognized for his people-centric leadership style, he is passionate about developing talent, fostering innovation, and building strategic partnerships that enable organizations to navigate change and achieve sustainable growth.
Sumanta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from Franklin & Marshall College, Pennsylvania, and completed his postgraduate management studies at Rutgers University, New Jersey. He completed his schooling at the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai.
