Rachel Blundy is Head of Digital Investigation in Asia-Pacific for @AFP, based in Hong Kong. She previously held roles with news agency Storyful and the South China Morning Post.

Shelly Walia

Executive Editor, The Quint, India

Shelly Walia has been a journalist for more than 13 years – out of which nine have been spent in newsrooms of digital media companies. She’s currently the Executive Editor at the Indian digital-first media company, The Quint, where she closely interfaces with editors and reporters as well as the marketing team to strategise and execute successful membership campaigns, including daily and special newsletters. She’s keen to learn and understand ways to practise sustainable journalism in the digital era where editorial and product viability find the perfect balance.

Prior to The Quint, Shelly worked as a reporter at the American digital media company, Quartz, and as a senior sub-editor in one of India’s largest financial dailies, Business Standard. She is an alumnus of Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, New York. Shelly loves exploring social media tools – especially the ones that are available for free.

Summer Chen

Editor-in-Chief, FactCheck Center, Taiwan

Summer Chen is the Chief Editor of Taiwan FactCheck Center. Taiwan FactCheck Center is the first fact-checking organization, collaborating with Facebook, Yahoo, and LINE in the Chinese-speaking world since 2018.

Before being a fact checker, she was a journalist for a daily economic newspaper. She started to be a fact checker in May 2019. She leads the TFC team to fight several battles against misinformation. TFC won the Best Corrected award of Global Fact7 and was an initiative of CoronaVirusFacts Alliance in 2020.  TFC fought against the disinformation during the China Military exercises in Aug 2022. She loves to be one part of the fact-checking community.

Fergus Bell

Founder and CEO, Fathm, UK

Fergus Bell is the founder & CEO at Fathm, a multi-award winning independent news lab, agency and consultancy. Fathm has a mission of working with people who are trying to spark creative change and drive sustainability in media by improving newsroom processes and efficiency, making use of emerging technologies, and tackling the ever increasing problems of mis and disinformation.
