INTRODUCTION

Despite a challenging global economy, Asia Pacific was a “relative bright spot” in 2023, the IMF said in its October outlook. But there are signs that Asia’s post-pandemic recovery may be running out of steam in 2024 ”as China’s structural slowdown and lower productivity growth in many other economies dampen the region’s potential,” the IMF said.

Add to that the uncertainty of elections in several APAC economies next year, geopolitical risks from wars in the Ukraine and Middle East, and Western tensions with China.

How will companies, investors, consumers and policymakers navigate these challenges in the year ahead? How can financial journalists brainstorm compelling ideas and conduct in-depth reporting on these issues, and publish impactful, fact-based stories that engage their audiences?

This 4-days interactive online workshop aims to equip participants with expert insights and analytical skills to navigate and report on the challenges facing the APAC economy in the upcoming year. By exploring key story themes and major news events for relevant business angles, and identifying agenda-setting projects, this program can help journalists to create impactful, fact-based stories that engage and inform their audiences.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The programme is designed for finance and business journalists, editors and media professionals who want to enhance their reporting skills, uncover hidden stories and excel in presenting crucial economic information in an engaging and informative manner.
