What does Google Analytics 4 mean for publishers and media companies?

On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics will stop processing new data. This is a move to push users to Google Analytics 4 as the new go-to solution for monitoring web activity, and it’s also the most significant change Google Analytics has ever made.

Because Google Analytics 4 is an entirely new analytics product, this change is causing issues in the widely deployed UA world. It presents a major challenge for GA implementers and end users. But what does Google Analytics 4 mean for publishers and media companies? How does that impact how they look at audience engagement and metrics overall?

Gannett soft-launched GA4 in October 2022 across all digital platforms, running in parallel with Universal Analytics. This will be an opportunity to discuss the roll-out of GA4 at USA Today’s publisher with Jennifer Frigault, former Senior Vice President of Data Strategy and Analytics at Gannett, and Dan Mazza, former Director, Data Strategy & Analysis at Gannett. They will tell us about how Gannet prepared for the migration to GA4. We will try to take stock of the status of the pending questions and how the members of the Data Science group managed to address them.

WHEN: January 10, 2023, from 3 pm to 4.30 pm CET
