Cabrera began his journalism career in 2004 while in his second year at Brooklyn College. He landed an internship at the historic black newspaper, the New York Amsterdam News. At the Amsterdam News, he covered the 2005 mayoral campaign between Michael Bloomberg and Fernando Ferrer and the likes of former President Barack Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton and Shaquille O’Neal to name a few.

Since, he’s joined The Athletic where he leads a team of over 30 globally on audience and has led the brand to record growth on audience.

Javier Kraviez

Digital Business Director, Clarín, Argentina

Javier Kraviez is Digital Business Director at Clarín, where he leads the areas of Digital Subscriptions, Consumer Insights, New Product and Audience Development, and the 365 Benefits Program. With twenty years of experience in the media, he previously served as Chief Customer Officer at Clarín, being in charge of the areas of Subscription Sales, Customer Relationship Management and Big Data & Analytics.

Industrial Engineer graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA), with an MBA from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, he has started his professional career in the US financial market.

Lluís Cucarella

CEO, Next Media and SSN Comunicación / CEO & Managing Partner, JC Allman & Partners

Lluís Cucarella is a journalist and CEO of the media consultancy Next Idea Media and the agency SSN Comunicación, as well as CEO & Managing Partner at JC Allman & Partners. He is also editorial director of the Journalism Laboratory of the Luca de Tena Foundation, and associate consultant at WAN-IFRA.

For more than 30 years he has held senior positions in Spanish media groups and newspapers. He has been deputy general manager of the digital area of Prensa Ibérica, director of online content, business director and director of digital transformation in numerous Spanish media, as well as director of newspapers such as Levante-EMV.
Specialized in audience development, business development and media transformation, he is also a teacher, columnist and lecturer.

With a degree in Information Sciences, he has also studied Business Administration and Management, as well as specific training at universities such as the Stephen M. Ross School of Business, (University of Michigan), among others.

Rodrigo Reyes

Founder & CEO, Midas, Colombia

Rodrigo is a professional with more than 25 years of experience, most of them defining and optimizing digital assets, ecosystems and digital teams, and leading corporate digital transformation initiatives.  He has worked with leading companies in Colombia, in sectors such as publishers, retail, CPG, financial, insurance, fintech, insurtech, airlines, construction, health and telecommunications, among others, and is expanding his practice to Latam companies in Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.

For the last 5 years, Rodrigo has focused on 1st Party Data strategies, data monetization, data integration, MarTech definition and optimization, and recently launched MIDAS, the first local data broker in Latam.

David Matoses

David Matoses Peraire is the General Manager (CEO) of Casa Editorial El Tiempo S.A., one of the main media companies in Colombia, based in Bogotá. Under his direction, the company has continued with the digital transformation of businesses, taking care of the traditional area, merging and integrating two very disparate cultures. In recent years he has worked on the implementation of innovative initiatives with the use of artificial intelligence to improve the reader experience, internal processes and the personalization of user experiences.

María Lorente

Director for Latin America at Agence France-Presse (AFP). As Latin America director, Maria oversees AFP’s strategic and commercial development across the region, conceiving programs to enhance customer loyalty and build new alliances with media and corporate partners. Luciana Cardoso

Luciana started her career at IBM in Project Management for Latin America and then became CPO of Periódico Estadão in Brazil, leading the digital transformation of the company. She then joined Quartz as Senior Product Manager, achieving significant results such as increasing readership and creating a successful podcast. After her time at Bandeirantes Group in Brazil as Director of Product and Data, she currently serves as Media Business Advisor at MDIF. She is also Vice President of the Executive Board of the News Product Alliance.

Luis Granja

General Director and CEO, Ecuavisa, Ecuador

Ecuavisa General Director and CEO, one of the leading publishers in Ecuador. More than two decades of professional career in the financial and telecommunications sectors, highlighting his leadership and ability to adapt to changing environments.

Granja holds a degree in finance engineering and a MBA in financial studies from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He began his career as a Financial Manager at BASF, where he gained experience in corporate financial management in Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. He later joined Telefónica Móviles Ecuador, holding positions such as Vice President of B2B and Digital Business and Vice President of Finance and Management Control (CFO). In 2020, he joined the media business at Ecuavisa.

Gisella Salmón

Gisella Salmón is a journalist and digital audience engagement specialist with over 15 years of experience in media. As Head of Engagement at Grupo El Comercio – Peru, she leads content strategies specializing in new narratives, subscriber experiences, newsletters, and paywall content, focused on strengthening audience relationships and improving user retention.

Gail Scriven

Deputy General Editor, LA NACION, Argentina

Gail Scriven has been Deputy General Editor of La Nación since March 2018. She joined the newspaper in 1998 as editor-in-chief of the El Mundo section after having worked in other media and radio stations, in addition to having been a correspondent for several North American magazines. Over the past few years, she has led cultural transformation and innovation teams in La Nación’s editorial team. Beyond her role as Deputy General Editor, she has direct responsibility for the special In Depth team, which covers the most innovative productions at La Nación, as well as the Society, Security, and Buenos Aires sections. She has covered news abroad, including in Brazil, the United States, Germany, and other countries. Juan Roberto Vargas

Juan Roberto Vargas is a Colombian journalist and the current director of Noticias Caracol, one of the most important news programs in Colombia. Throughout his career, he has worked at media outlets such as RCN Radio, El Tiempo, TV Hoy, CM&, and Noticiero de las 7, in addition to having experience at Grupo La Prensa and Telemetro in Panama. His leadership has consolidated Noticias Caracol as the most-watched news program in the country.

Cristina de Diego

Head of Marketing and Digital Business Prisa, Spain

Cristina de Diego is an executive with more than 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, and digital business development. With a degree in Business Administration and Management from IESE, she has developed her career in telecommunications and large publishers, leading growth and monetization strategies.

She currently leads the digital revenue generation strategy at PRISA Media, managing key areas such as the gaming section and affiliate programs. Since October 2020, she has led the subscription acquisition project for EL PAÍS, which recently surpassed 400,000 subscribers.

James Law is the editor-in-chief of social media news and intelligence agency Storyful, the global leader in verified user-generated video. James has been a journalist and editor for 20 years. He was instrumental in launching the news-dedicated streaming service Flash, with more than 25 news channels in one place, including leading global brands such as CNN, BBC News and Al Jazeera. Juliana Quintana Pavlicich

Journalist specializing in gender and science, El Surti, Paraguay

Juliana Quintana Pavlicich is a journalist specializing in human rights, gender, and science coverage. She currently works as a reporter for the El Surti, Paraguayan publishers. She is a researcher at Conacyt (National Council of Sciences), a fact-checker on gender issues at La Precisa, and an LGBTTIQ+ news correspondent at Agencia Presentes and Emancipa Paraguay.

She holds a certification in Public Narrative and Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School and a master’s degree in Economic and Social Development Studies from the Sorbonne University in Paris. In 2019, she received the Alumni Impact Award from the U.S. Department of State.

Before her journalistic career, Claudia worked in multinational companies in France, the United States, and Mexico, analysing financial and business operations—experience she now integrates into her role as a leader in innovation and transformation.
