A new WAN-IFRA event focused on AI.

WAN-IFRA and its new community ‘AI in Media’ present a brand new event: the Frankfurt AI Forum. It is part of our series of AI forums around the globe and is dedicated almost exclusively to the topic of artificial intelligence. The Frankfurt Forum is primarily aimed at media companies in the German-speaking regions of Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as the German-speaking areas in Luxembourg, for example. Of course, guests from other countries are also very welcome.

Accompanied and inspired by our WAN-IFRA AI expert Ezra Eeman, the programme will be presented partly in German and partly in English. Translation will be provided.

At the Frankfurt AI Forum, we will look at the profound impact of AI on content creation, distribution, utilisation and digital audience engagement.

Get ready for exciting discussions that will shed light on the future of media in the age of artificial intelligence. What’s more, learn from the first ground-breaking and inspiring projects from pioneers in the use of AI.

In Frankfurt, we will be presenting the first successes, challenges and findings from our new ‘Newsroom AI Catalyst’ programme, which we are running in collaboration with OpenAI. By the end of March, 32 prototypes from European publishers will have been created. A huge initial wealth of experience in the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

Our main topics for the Frankfurt AI Forum are:

  • Which AI technologies are the media investing in?
  • How do you build up the right expertise for AI and qualify the team for the projects?
  • What impact does AI have on the organisation of newsrooms and journalism?
  • What role does the ‘human loop’ play in an algorithmic world?
  • How do you master the introduction of AI, which requires more than technological integration?
  • What do Large Language Models (LLM) mean for traditional search engines? How will this change the media market?
  • How will the relationship between technology companies and publishers evolve?
  • How will the use of AI affect the public’s trust in the work of journalists?
