Cabrera began his journalism career in 2004 while in his second year at Brooklyn College. He landed an internship at the historic black newspaper, the New York Amsterdam News. At the Amsterdam News, he covered the 2005 mayoral campaign between Michael Bloomberg and Fernando Ferrer and the likes of former President Barack Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton and Shaquille O’Neal to name a few.

Since, he’s joined The Athletic where he leads a team of over 30 globally on audience and has led the brand to record growth on audience.

Branko Brkic

Co-Founder of Daily Maverick and Founder & Lead of Project Kontinuum, South Africa

Currently, he is the founder and leader of Project Kontinuum, a global initiative established in 2024. Branko Brkic founded Daily Maverick, South Africa’s leading digital news publication, in 2009. By June 2024, the publication had reached 14.5 million monthly unique readers, at which point he stepped down from his role as Editor-in-Chief.

He also launched and edited the magazines Timbila, Brainstorm, Maverick, and Empire, as well as 168, South Africa’s last weekend newspaper. In June 2018, he was awarded the Nat Nakasa Award for Media Integrity, widely regarded as South Africa’s most prestigious journalism honor. Brkic began his career as a book editor in 1984 in the former Yugoslavia.

Among the most notable works he has published are The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, The Complete Greek Tragedies, and The Miroslav Gospel, whose reissue contributed to its inclusion in UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register as documentary heritage of global significance.

Iñaki is specialized in business translation, his main role is to help other companies to incorporate data and Artificial Intelligence in their business. From Data Quality and Data Governance to the implementation of AI algorithms in the production process.

Maria Camila Díaz

Director, W Weekend, Colombia

Maria Camila is an accomplished journalist with fifteen years of experience in television, radio and digital media. She has worked in major media outlets in Colombia, such as RCN Radio, La FM, Blu Radio and Caracol Television. For the last 5 years, she has been part of the W Radio team, where she served as the main female voice of the morning desk for 3 years alongside Julio Sánchez Cristo. Currently, she is in charge of W Radio’s programming on weekends.

Additionally, for the past year and a half, she has been leading her own news channel on YouTube, which already has more than 100 thousand subscribers.
