Save the date to join us in Oslo on 20 November 2026!

After last year’s success, join us for the Local Day in Oslo on Friday, November 20. This is the only international event in Europe completely focused on local journalism and its transformation—it’s built entirely for and by local media professionals and experts.

The focus of Local Day is editorial and practical. We are bringing together newsroom and business leaders who work every day to turn strategy and innovation into action. The event will cover two major themes, featuring specific cases from the Nordics and Europe presented by leaders sharing their real-world experiences:

Meeting Your Readers:

How newsrooms build trust and loyalty

We’ll hear from local newsroom leaders who consistently bring their journalism into the heart of the community. By proving the value of their work to local readers, these newsrooms anchor their brand with the people they serve.

Driving Change:

What local newsrooms are doing to reinvent themselves

A solid strategy to drive digital transformation is key for any local media company. In this session, we focus on how the way we work, iterate, and collaborate can actually become a cornerstone of the strategy itself. We’ll hear from media companies who are taking bold action to drive change—from betting on local service journalism, a dedicated investigative team to the secrets of converting sporadic visitors to a loyal audience.

Just as last year, the program includes a hands-on workshop with breakout discussions, as well as plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow local newsroom professionals and strategists. This is the one-day gathering specifically designed for those shaping local journalism and leading their teams through innovation.

Local Day is brought to you by the team behind Innovate Local.
