WAN-IFRA is bringing together leading thinkers in the media industry who are redefining their newsrooms and the media landscape with their vision and ideas.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be a main topic at this event. We will learn how media organisations – small and large- are leveraging and embracing machine learning and AI in their newsroom.

We will meet at JP/Politikens in Copenhagen, Denmark – one of Denmark’s leading media companies.

Newsroom leaders will present case studies and best practices on how they are transforming their work processes to create successful editorial strategies that are engaging readers through high-performing premium content and diversified products.

It’s a chance to connect with fellow newsroom strategists, unpack common challenges and share ideas on the way forward!

The following themes will shape the Newsroom Summit this year:

  • Successful strategies to attract young audiences: How are younger generations consuming and connecting with the information news publishers are delivering? We will hear best cases on how publishers in different parts of the world are working to attract younger audiences.

  • Increasing your subscription business: How can the newsroom help the business teams solve the plateau effect? We will take a closer look at some of the successful initiatives publishers in several countries are undertaking to grow their digital subscription revenue and how they are tackling the challenges in keeping those new subscribers.
  • Safety of journalists: On-site and online. How can we support our teams in identifying potential threats and adopting safer work practices? What are the ways that newsroom leaders can take the required responsibility to anticipate and prepare for such risks and protect their teams?
