Ask The Post: Inside WP’s AI Journalism Revolution

Join Phoebe Connelly, Senior Editor of AI Strategy and Innovation at The Washington Post, for an insider’s look at how one of America’s most prestigious news organizations is embracing generative AI. Through practical examples, she’ll demonstrate how The Post experiments with AI technologies while maintaining rigorous editorial standards. Connelly will reveal the thinking behind their ground breaking “Ask The Post AI” tool and other recent innovations including AI-audio news and newsroom tools.

Ezra Eeman is the Director of Strategy & Innovation at NPO, the Dutch Public Broadcaster. Ezra has almost 20 years of experience in media, innovation and journalism. Previously he was Change Director at international media company Mediahuis, responsible for coordinating newsroom transformation and digital acceleration. He worked as the Head of Digital, Transformation and Platforms at the EBU, The European Broadcasting Union and before that was head of an innovation lab and journalist at VRT, the Flemish public broadcaster.

Phoebe Connelly is Senior Editor, AI Strategy and Innovation for the Washington Post, leading The Washington Post’s efforts to employ generative AI and other emerging technologies in service of the Washington Post’s mission to inform, empower, and delight its readers. Previously, Connelly served as Director of Next Generation Audiences at The Washington Post. She oversaw a team focused on accelerating The Post’s reach among younger and more diverse audiences through new products, practices and partnerships.
