Managing data as an asset and delivering value through analytics, visualisation, personalisation, and democratisation is why organisations invest in data.
Adopting a new technology or growing the data team in a certain way to fix your data needs is often not a solution, especially when it comes to complex organisations like news publishing. Building the bricks of your data architecture is an essential first step in your journey. It requires a clear vision, flexibility and reliability. If you get it wrong, you can be set back months or years of progress.

In this Data Science Expert group meet-up, WAN-IFRA has invited Paul-Armand Verhaegen, Data Architect at Mediahuis, to illustrate how Mediahuis has built an architecture that data practitioners can quickly adopt in its different news entities. The objective is to ensure the quality of the data, accelerate its democratisation for practical and actionable application by analysts and scientists in the newsrooms and business intelligence units.
