Broadband technologies will have a phenomenal impact on society in the future. For instance, as many as nine million new cars with an Internet connection are likely to be sold by 2020 thanks to broadband access, a forecast says.

Indeed, it is a sort of revolution equivalent to the industrial revolution, or other dramatic changes brought about by inventions such as writing, metallurgy, steam power, electronics and computers. The broadband revolution is not only about high-speed networking.
