Event manager (f/m/d, full-time position, Frankfurt) in the Global Events Team

WAN-IFRA, based in Frankfurt, Germany, with offices in Paris, France; Singapore; Chennai, India and Mexico City, is the global organisation of the world’s news publishers. Its core mission is to defend and promote press freedom, quality journalism and editorial integrity and the development of prosperous businesses. Your tasks

  • Support a portfolio of key global events for news publishers from planning to delivery, such as the World News Media Congress, the Middle East Conference, the European Printers Summit and many more.
  • Planning and creating of marketing mailings, social media campaigns, website materials and deliver on event marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate events – e.g. technical production (virtual platforms), venue logistics, speaker management, hotel contracts, participant outreach, expenses and budget tracking.
  • Management of vendors contributing to events.
  • Research new suppliers, contacts and venues and offer proactive ideas.
  • Provide on-site support at events as needed.
  • Attendee management; arrange travel and accommodations for our speakers and VIPs.
  • 10% international travel required.

Your profile

  • Working permit for Germany.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Tourism or similar.
  • A minimum of two years experience within event management.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English is a must. Good knowledge of German, Spanish or French is of advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, social competency and enthusiasm.
  • Proactive, result-driven, enthusiastic and able to suggest new ideas and solutions.
  • Able to work with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus (InDesign, Photoshop).
  • Experience in organising virtual events, webinars, and hybrid events is a plus.
