WAN-IFRA South Asia

WAN-IFRA South Asia, headquartered in Chennai, started its operation in 2001 as a private limited company registered under the Indian Companies Act. But the origin of IFRA in India dates back to 1992 when the services of IFRA, with only an Annual Conference, were offered in this country through a representative office. From this modest beginning, it today stands as a separate company catering to the needs of news publishing industry in the Indian sub continent.

Currently there are about 40 members – both publishers and suppliers. Most of the leading publications in South Asia are our members, and the list includes from India – ABP, Amar Ujala, Business Standard, Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Jagran, Deccan Herald, Dinamalar, Eenadu, India Today, Malayala Manorama, Manipal Media, Mathrubhumi, Namaste Telangana, Prabhat Khabar, Sakshi, The Daily Thanthi, The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, The Times of India, Sangbad Pratidin, Sanmarg, Sakal, from Sri Lanka – Wijeya Newspapers, Express Newspapers, from Bangladesh – The Daily Star, Prothom Alo, from Pakistan – Jang Newspapers, Dawn, and from Nepal – Kantipur.
