Music website launches complementary print magazine

Despite the overtly digital landscape, some publishers have seen fit to launch print extensions of their online content. For example, as we reported earlier this week, technology and business website Tech City News recently started a print publication.

Freedom Communications to launch LA Register in 2014

Aaron Kushner, the CEO of Freedom Communications, told the Orange County Register last week that he will launch a new daily, called the Los Angeles Register in early 2014. The California-based company also owns the Beach Register and three other print daily newspapers as well as several non-dailies.

Guardian starts long-form journalism print project

The Guardian is experimenting with long-form journalism. The Tech City News website, which is dedicated to business and technology, has taken “a giant leap forwards” by lauching a quarterly print magazine. “Paper is the new second screen,” says Editor Alex Wood, who invites the readers who are overrun by an avalanche of tweets and emails, scanning tons of news every day to “unplug, sit back and relax.”
