As General Manager for Daily Maverick’s membership community, Maverick Insider, Fran has grown the membership community to 30,000 members from a starting base of 200.
Under her stewardship, the organisation’s event and live journalism division has successfully taken Daily Maverick’s journalism from screen to stage, sparking vital conversations among audiences and within the industry.

During her nearly six years with the publication, Fran has launched numerous new divisions, including a book publishing division (Maverick 451) and an e-commerce division. Fran and her team were the recipients of the 2022 Wan-Ifra Best Global Reader Revenue award and the Wan-Ifra Best Paid Content Strategy, Africa in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Originally from Ireland, Fran has lived and worked in Cape Town for 15 years.
