Margret Müller

As Director Digital Publishing, Margret Müller oversees the product development at Rheinische Post Mediengruppe. The group is one of Germany’s largest regional newspaper companies publishing four local news brands. Of these, RP Online (Rheinische Post Brand) is one of the widest reaching German daily newspaper online portals, which counts some 12 million unique users each month. Margret is responsible for the product developments for the group’s ePaper, News App, Newsletters, videos and podcasts. Together with her team of product managers and data analysts she develops state-of-the-art products and ensures the their growth and subscription success. This includes working on attractive digital and audience-focused content with the newsroom as well as ensuring excellent sales processes and customer-centred advertising options, depending on the business model. As one of the key drivers of digital transformation of the group, Margret – also thanks to Rheinische Post‘s participation in the WAN-IFRA Table Stakes Europe – takes a lead role in shaping not only the product world for the readers, but also the required internal processes.

Prior to her current position, she led several strategic initiatives and projects on behalf of the group’s holding management, most notably the definition of the digital subscription strategy. By doing so, Margret draws upon her previous experience as a strategy consultant, where she advised clients from telecommunication to the software industry during their digital transformation. Margret holds a master degree in International Business from Maastricht University.
