Walid is currently the Head of Editorial Content for Emerging and Frontier Markets Publications for Refinitiv, a London Stock Exchange Group company. Walid is also Managing Editor for news website Zawya.com, which was acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2012 when he first joined as deputy editor. Walid has worked on multiple products during his tenure at Tomson Reuters, including launching several business portals and establishing a white label knowledge solutions content business for Zawya and Refinitiv.

His work involves conceptualising, creating, and delivering to multiple client’s various content sets, such as web content, newsletters, information graphics and videos. By managing an extensive team of freelance writers, videographers, and designers to produce world-class content.

Walid’s journey in the media industry began in 1995 as a local news reporter for Gulf News, a leading English-language daily in the UAE, covering various Dubai government entities, Aviation and Travel sectors as well as major events in Dubai. Since then, his career has spanned multiple mediums, including newspapers, book publishing, web content, commercial content, and public relations.
