Amalie Kestler is managing editor in chief at the Danish daily Politiken (2022-). Earlier in her carrier at the newspaper she was National Editor (2018-2022) and Head of the Editorial Board. In addition to leading Politikens newsroom transformation she is heading the papers ongoing work to evolve journalism about climate and sustainability issues.

Before coming to Politiken in 2013 Mrs. Kestler worked for several years as a political journalist and editor at various Danish news organizations. From 2010-2012 she was the Head of Press for the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen. Mrs. Kestler graduated from the Danish School of Journalism in 2003, has studied as a Sauvé Scholar at McGill University in Montreal (2005-2006) and is also an alumni of the Georgetown University Leadership Seminar (class of 2013). In 2023 she completed the Stanford Executive program ‘People, Culture and Performance – strategies from Silicon Valley’.
