David Buttle

David Buttle is founder of DJB Strategies, a consultancy working at the intersection of media and technology. Prior to founding his business, David was Director of Public Affairs and Platform Strategy for the Financial Times. He was responsible for the FT’s interfaces with big tech, relationships with governments and legislators and led the business’s response to artificial intelligence, including licensing negotiations. Before this, and for around 8 years, he was the Global Commercial Marketing Director, leading an international team that was integral to the FT’s market-leading commercial performance throughout that period. Prior to joining the FT, David was a senior manager at Pearson and before that he held corporate communications and marketing roles in education and consulting businesses. David holds a MBA from Warwick Business School and is a regular contributor to Press Gazette and The Drum on media and technology.
