Desirée is director of Digital Content at EFE. She is in charge of setting the editorial direction for efe.com, EFE’s social media accounts and other digital products. Among them is EFE Verifica, which Desiree launched in 2019 and has become a benchmark for verification in the Spanish-speaking world.

She previously worked as a correspondent for sub-Saharan Africa, based in Nairobi, specializing in international news. She got fellowships to report on conflict and development and has produced the documentary “Owino”, awarded at international festivals.
